November 21 Saturday Night Waikiki show

This last Saturday night was another exciting gallery show at Thor Gallery in Waikiki. I did another body painting demo but, the difference was this time the model was my own daughter Indigo. She did a great job holding still, talking to customers and handing out flyers.

Stuff like this makes a Dad proud!

An added surprise was Austalian airbrush artist Paul Webster showed up for the fun while he was in Hawaii vacationing.

Friday night body art in Waikiki

This last Friday night at Thor gallery was lots of fun. Dorota did another fantastic job standing still for an hour while I painted skulls,fire,flowers and tiki on her.

We had a big crowd turn out and lots to see.

Dennis Mathewson's Custom painting workshops in Denmark and Germany

I just finished two custom painting workshops in Europe September 8-9 in Denmark and September 11-12 in Germany.

The classes were a big success and plans for future classes in Germany are being made now.

Fusion Bike has flow

We painted the Fusion bike last year for one our favorite customers George Lindemann.

 Fusion was build by Hawaii's premier craftsman and top motorcycle builder 

 Roger Kuwahara of Kustom Fab custom cycles in Honolulu.

 It was entered and won the Hawaiian biker build off 2006 as well as was featured in Easy-rider magazine and on display at last at SEMA show in las Vegas in 2006

This video was part of a complete story made for TV unfortunately it never made it to the screen but we did get this small piece that featured us painting it. 

 We hope you enjoy it

New release! Crabs in a bucket by Dennis Mathewson

Dennis just released another killer original painting titled"CRABS IN A BUCKET" it's a play on the old term "sour grapes" Its also was a classic tale of how all the Dads and Grandpas here in Hawaii teach the young keike to fish on the beach park and canal walls all around Hawaii. It plays on when one does well it seems that other try to bring them down. Just like Crabs in a bucket  when one tries to get out the others pull it down. Here you see one tiki is catching a fish and the other is getting caught trying to get attention, he he. 

Such is life. 

This was a unveiled on fathers day at the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange and now is located on Maui.

Saturday, March 28th was Dennis Mathewson's premier day to debut his artwork and limited edition prints on canvas as well as his NEW Metal prints at the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange.

  Mathewson's art is located inside the Pictures plus and Wyland  location inside the front doorway entrance to Hawaii's largest military retail location. This in Mathewson's third retail location now for his fine artwork and with more locations on the horizon soon. With so many custom bikes painted for the military crowd his work was well received by all.
